The Lanarkshire Mental Health Needs Assessment Programme (LMHNAP) was established in 2004 and is based within the Department of Public Health at NHS Lanarkshire and managed by Kevin O'Neill. The programme exist to support the planning and development of services through the provision of information - this we call 'INFORM-ACTION'. Key to the success of the the programme has been working closely with senior clinicians who bring their experience and network to the programme on secondment for periods of time to undertake specific work as Associate Mental Health Needs Assessment Programme Officers. Key to the promotion of the information is the inclusion of the needs assessment reports in the Annual Report of the Director of Public Health in Lanarkshire. Mental Health Care Needs of People Experiencing an Eating Disorder in Lanarkshire - This study is being undertaken by Diane Kane, Senior Occupational Therapist, Eating Disorder Team in Monlklands.
Antenatal and Post-natal Mental Health and Well-being Needs in Lanarkshire - Currently being undertaken by Elaine Clark, Senior Charge Nurse, Cumbernauld Community Mental Health Team. Mental Health Care Needs of People who Self-harm in Lanarkshire - Lead by Dr Femi Oshin, Specialist Registrar, Department of Public Health, NHS Lanarkshire. Since 2004 the Lanarkshire Mental Health Needs Assessment Programme have published mental health needs assessment chapters year on year in the Director of Public Health Annual Report as well as one chapter in 2003. It is important to note that many of the issues highlighted in previous chapters have, and are, being progressed. However, due to the continual request for the reports they are made available below. Many people and organisations have contributed to the health needs assessments produced, not least the service users and carers who have shared their stories. Kevin O'Neill, Dr John Logan and Dr Moir, Department of Public Health were co-others in all the needs assessment reports.
