Central to promoting recovery is ensuring the voices of people who have experienced mental health problems are heard. It has been said that, there is nothing more powerful than the real life example that recovery does happen, both for people that use services and for people that provide services. This section of the website will be used as a focal point for gathering and sharing recovery stories. If you would like to help us to gather recovery stories or tell your own recovery story then please e-mail LRN@lanarkshirelinks.org.uk Your story can be anonymous if you would prefer.

The Lanarkshire Recovery Network is working with the Scottish Recovery Network to produce a recovery DVD, which will be launched during the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival during October 2008. The DVD is being produced as:
As a peer support tool that could be given or shown to people who are experiencing mental health problems and their carers to inspire hope and belief that change is possible.
As a tool to be used as part of workforce training and development (not just mental health services) ensuring the human voice is heard, challenging attitudes and values.
As a tool to be used across settings (such as schools, work places and communities) to challenge stigma and promote more positive attitudes around mental ill-health.
As a way to demonstrate and celebrate that recovery is happing for some people in Lanarkshire, learning from the essential elements of recovery and motivating action.
As a way to promote recovery via local press coverage of the launch of the DVD.
As a way of supporting other to tell, record and share their personal recovery stories.
